Lisa Cuthbert collaboration with Helevorn in the works

News has reached us that Dublin-born singer/songwriter Lisa Cuthbert is heading to the studio in collaboration with gothic doomsters Helevorn once again. This is very exciting for us, being great fans of both Lisa and Helevorn and of their last collaboration, Els Dies Tranquils.

There are no details yet of what form this collaboration may take except that Lisa is providing guest vocals on an upcoming track. We can't wait to hear the result!

Fire At Dawn - EP (2014)

Fire At Dawn are a 5 piece hard rock band from Southend, Essex. A hard working band who within the first 3 months of their formation had amassed a sizeable fan base.  In 2014, the band released a 5 song self-titled EP.

The music is fiery, passionate and haunting with catchy guitar riffs spiced with dazzling chords. The EP is modern, hard rock at its best, with tracks that could easily crossover into both underground and mainstream musical arenas. The lyrics are haunting and eerie and the vocals soft, yet gritty.

Supporting Indie Music: Mongrel Kickstarter to record new album

Boston aggressive rock band, Mongrel have started a Kickstarter campaign to help fund their new album. Femetalism Compilation Update No. 2

Last month we revealed our first promotional compilation series.  Forged in Stone and Steel will be a two part release with Part 1 due for release on the 31st March and part 2 due for release on 30th April.

This week we have been looking at the artists featured on Part 1 in a little more detail and now the first part of the compilation release is getting seriously close.

Today we can reveal the artwork and artist list for Part 2.  The artwork for this part focuses on the steel element of the compilation name, created again by Rowan Andrews, and based on photographs of Sheffield taken by Femetalism's own Craig Andrews.

Femetalism Compilation Album Update No.1

A few weeks ago we put out a request for unsigned bands to submit tracks to a compilation album we are putting together. We expected a modest reception, but the response was overwhelming. Now, after several weeks of sorting, sifting, pondering and listening to every submission over and over again (oh, the hardship) we have come out the other side and are ready to make some announcements! 

The selection process was painfully difficult due to the volume and quality of the submissions, and it soon became clear that a single 15 track album wasn't going to cut it. We decided that that only way forward was to create a two-part release; the first on March 31st as planned and a second compilation on April 30th.

The hardest part of any project is thinking of a name, but a name we have thought of. The title of the compilation will be Forged In Stone And Steel, a name inspired by the music, by rock and metal, by strength and fortitude, and by Sheffield, the home of Femetalism. The two parts will be referred to simply as part 1 and part 2.

The artwork is being provided by Rowan Andrews, and is based on photographs of Sheffield taken by Femetalism's own Craig Andrews. The artwork for part 1 focuses on the stone element, and the artwork for part 2 will focus on the steel. And today we can reveal what part 1 will look like, and what it will be made of.

Bands! Femetalism is looking for music to include on our first promo album to be released in March 2015.

March 2015 will see the release of Femetalism's first digital promotional album and we want you to be a part of it.

Over the last few years we have worked with so many incredible underground and unsigned femetal bands from all over the world and now we want to showcase some of that awesomeness.

The album will be available for free download and will be promoted online and at all of the metal music events we attend in 2015.  The album will be a great opportunity for bands to share their music and for fans to discover loads of new and exciting stuff to listen to.

Winter In Eden Announced as headliner for Northern Symphony Festival

NORTHERN SYMPHONY FESTIVAL is the UK's first ever symphonic metal festival. The event aims to celebrate the UK's symphonic metal scene and give symphonic metal fans a chance to discover new bands within the genre.  One thing is for sure - fans can expect a wide range of symphonic inspired metal on the day! The festival is set to take place on Saturday 4th April 2015 at The Venue in Selby, North Yorkshire.

Kim Dylla, aka Vulvatron added to GWAR lineup

Horror metallers Gwar were left with an uncertain future in March this year when frontman and founder Oderus Urungus (Dave Brockie) passed away of a heroin overdose. On September 12th, six months after Oderus' passing, the future of the band was became a little clearer. New band member Vulvatron (Kim Dylla) was revealed at Riot Fest, and she seems to be sharing vocal duties with Blothar (Mike Bishop).

Nonamen - Permission EP
