New Release: Anachronism - Reflecting The Inside (April 2015)

April 10th saw the release of Anachronism's new EP, Reflecting The Inside. The band's first release since their debut album Senseless in 2012, the EP is six tracks of ear-bursting technical death metal. Reflecting The Inside demonstrates the band's progress, both technically and musically. The sound on the new EP sounds fresh, brutal and angry.

Anachronism were formed in Switzerland in 2009 by Matthieu Favre, Lisa Voisard and Florent Duployer on vocals, guitar and drums respectively. After a few lineup changes, Nicolas Riederer and Julien Waroux were added on backing vocals, guitar and bass.

INTERVIEW: Undersmile

Oxford sludge doom outfit Undersmile released their second full-length  album Anhedonia on the 1st April, a follow up to the bands 2012 full-length album Narwhal.  We saw the band at Bloodstock 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed their set - we were quick to buy a stylish Narwhal Tee and pick up the new album when it was released.

New Release: Celtachor - Nuada of the Silver Arm (April 2015)

Irish blackened folk metalers Celtachor have revealed the title and artwork for their upcoming second album: Nuada Of The Silver Arm. Recorded in Sept/Oct 2014 at Sun Studios in Dublin with Ola Ersfjord and mastered by Chris Common, it will be their first release on German label Trollzorn. The release will be out on April 24th!

VALK-FEST 2015: WINTER STORM ANNOUNCED FOR THE VALHALLA STAGE

Midlandic melodic metallers Winter Storm are the first (and currently only) band to be announced to play the Valhalla Stage for the 2015 edition of Valkyrian Festival, which is also set to be the last ever Valkyrian Festival.

Valkyrian Festival: The Requiem For Valhalla will take place at both The Venue and The Riverside on Ousegate in Selby, North Yorkshire with the Valhalla Main Stage being hosted in The Venue and the Danelaw Stage being hosted in The Riverside.

Northern Symphony 2015 - Photo Roundup

April 4th 2015 saw the first ever Northern Symphony Festival take place in Selby at The Venue and Riverside.  An incredible selection of symphonic inspired metal bands took to the stage and put on an amazing show.

As official sponsors of the event, we were particularly looking forward to the festival and have been working hard with the promotor to ensure the evening was a great success - and a great success it really was.  The atmosphere was awesome with a great crowd of people, all of the bands performed their socks off, the venue was superb and the whole event was electric.

With two stages and so many bands playing, we did our very best to get to everyone and at least listen to some, if not all of their sets.  We missed a few and for that we are really gutted.  Here is a selection of the photos we took of the bands we did get to see.

New Release: Forever Still - Awake The Fire (Single)

Independent female fronted rock band Forever Still have released a new single called "Awake the Fire". The single is the first single from their upcoming EP “Save Me”. The “Save Me” EP is the part two of three digital EPs that will eventually end up as one physical full length album later in 2015.
