Forged in Stone and Steel Part 2 - Track 9 As Night Falls - Final Destination

It all began in the summer of 2010 when two musicians who already knew one another from their previous musical projects – vocalist Anna Achtelik and guitarist Paweł Dylewski, decided to create the project of their dreams – a symphonic metal band that would follow in the footsteps of the greatest bands of the genre, but still remaining original and searching for its own style.

The first songs were created very quickly and the first shows were played at the beginning of 2012. The audiences' very positive reception confirmed that the direction was right. The first record was released later that year – an EP called My Secret Place, containing four songs, and the first music video for a song called My Memory. In the meantime new material was being composed and the band attended multiple shows and festivals. In 2014 As Night Falls released their second EP entitled From Grace To Oblivion.

Final Destination is taken from that EP - From Grace To Oblivion.

Forged in Stone and Steel Part 2 - Track 7 Andraste - Bribe The Ferryman

Andraste was formed following a mosh-pit collision at Paganfest '08, and became established as Manchester's foremost exponents of folk metal. Founder member Hazel Mayow (whistles and mandola) had long harboured a vision of combining her folk background in the wildlands of Cumbria with extreme metal; with Justin Morley (lead vocals, guitars, mandolin), Greg Chick (drums, vocals) and Tommy Rushton (bass, vocals) completing the lineup, the band proceeded to forge a very human take on history and mythology against the resulting epic backdrop of progressive virtuosity.

A self-produced debut album, The Secret Valley, was released in 2011 and garnered sufficient praise to earn the band an appearance on Bloodstock's acoustic stage in 2012. 'Bribe the Ferryman' is taken from the band's second album, due for release in mid-2015, and tells the tale of a grieving widow from the perspective of a priest who offers safe passage for the dead ... but at a dreadful cost.

As Bribe The Ferryman is a brand new, as yet unreleased track here is another Andraste song to keep you going until the compilation is released.

Andraste is:

Justin Morley - Lead Vocals / Guitars / Mandolin
Hazel Mayow - Whistles / Mandola
Greg Chick - Drums / Vocals
Tommy Rushton - Bass / Vocals

Forged in Stone and Steel Part 2 - Track 5 Reign of Sirius - The Rook and The Feather

Reign of Sirius are a Melodic/Symphonic Metal 6 piece band from the UK, based in Macclesfield in North West England. They reformed as a Symphonic Metal band in 2010 after a 3 year Electronica project of the same name founded by guitarist Mayo and Vocalist Alex. After multiple lineup changes they settled as a six piece to complete the resurrection of the band.

Showcasing their desire for heavy guitar riffs blended with epic symphonies and compositions, topped with the hard hitting screams and growls that build to the melodic and catchy choruses. The concept is strong with that hint of darkness and theatrical storytelling verses and lyrics which make the grand live shows more of an experience than you would get at your usual metal show.

Reign of Sirius released their second album 'Mirror Figures' which was a huge step up from their previous album. Released in April 2014 'Mirror Figures' is the promising next step for this fresh and original band, first heard with the release of the first single from the album 'Dice of Fate', released on 31st July 2013. The 8 minute plus single was more than a taster of what was to come and has shown exactly what the band can do.

The Rook and The Feather is taken from the bands 2014 album Mirror Figures.

Alex Blaikie - Vocals
Simon Mayo - Guitars
Tom Perry - Guitars

Forged in Stone and Steel Part 2 - Track 4 Burn The Void - Wrong Side Of My Mind

Burn The Void are a UK band formed in late 2010 by guitarist Steve Peril and bassist Nicky Rogerson. The idea from the start was to create a sound, which brought together their NWOBHM influence, merged with more modern elements of the rock and metal genres. This idea was finally realised when they released their debut self titled EP in 2011, including popular songs ‘No Man’s Land’ and ‘Embrace The Night’. The response they received was more than they anticipated and their following started to grow around the world. They were achieving recognition in the UK, USA, Europe and Russia, even accomplishing high standing positions in the Myspace Rock/ Metal music charts against fully established bands at the time.

The band continued to write and gig throughout 2011 until early 2012 when the line up parted ways. Steve and Nicky continued to write and in October 2012 the band was reborn, with the introduction of Doogle Hill on guitar and Londa Ntotila on lead vocals. With this new line up came a new musical direction for them. Fusing together the rich classic rock and metal sound of their past, with soaring classical-styled vocals, the music has found its unique edge.
